    Exceptional

Ston Easton Park is in a beautiful countryside setting, the staff were very nice and a really nice ambience about the place, it is expensive but worth the extra money, the log fires were cosy and the views fantastic.

Not really keen on the stone floors in reception, however it is a country house and people come in with muddy feet so serves a useful purpose, not mad about the ghost wandering around when getting up in the night.

    Very good

The quiet and countryside location was as expected. The historic building was impressive. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Facilities in the room were up to standard.

No air conditioning in the room forcing us to leave the windows open. This was on a rather normal summer day with temperatures not exceeding 22°C. As a result the noise coming out of the kitchen (room was on the second floor facing a small courtyard) could be heard and was rather disturbing considering the price we have paid.

    Superb

The hotel was in a lovely mansion and beautifully decorated. Our room was very comfortable with a spacious bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much and meeting Oscar, the dog, was a bonus!

Just one or two moans. The water in our bathroom was hot, but could have been a bit hotter. Likewise the heating which seemed to be off when we got back to our room after dinner. On the Saturday night, we'd reserved a table in the dining room for 8.00 p.m. but (after ordering in the lounge) we weren't shown to our table until an hour later. Maybe they were short staffed in the kitchen as other guests seemed to be late as well, but it was a bit annoying.

    Superb

The river suite was set in the gardeners cottage, by a stream and in beautifully tranquil surroundings. Staff very helpful.

Lack of spa / swimming pool is the only thing I could criticise.

    Fabulous

    location. country house. breakfast.

cost of dinner. far too expensive, so we only had one dinner at hotel. this meant that we had to drive to midsomer norton for the other 3 evenings. we would recommend this hotel but with a warning about cost of dinners

A grand Palladian house but still had a welcoming, inviting atmosphere.

    Very good

The lack of hotel type reception - personalised service

Small room for a 4 star hotel; price did not reflect single occupancy compared with double

  • 9.6
    Exceptional

Excellent style and location. A classic Country/Manor House hotel.

No tea/coffee in the rooms. This had to be ordered from room service. Also the fact that jeans were not allowed in the restaurant was not notified to us until we arrived.

    Superb

    It's a home from home

The lack of Wi-Fi is annoying and would probably put a number of people off - although there is Broadband, most modern phones and devices do not have a compatible socket.

Had a wonderful weekend stay. Very professional and helpful staff, delicious food and beautiful surroundings.
